The Ottawa Dog Show was something I really looked forward to and it was not that far. It looked promising and exciting. Here were my first impressions;
Even with the “help” of the gps, I had some trouble looking for it. Apparently, I drove past it….twice. It was in a rural area and there were no signs indicating that THE Ottawa Dog Show was taking place.
It was 38 degrees celsius and the event was taking place OUTSIDE. I was baffled and obviously, very hot and dizzy. There was a tent to stand under but no good pictures could be taken from there. The majority of the audience were seniors. Nothing wrong with seniors but how can there be not ONE kid that shows up?
Also, they’re were not enough seats for everyone so we had to play musical chairs. The chairs were old and on the verge of collapse so everyone made sure to sit at the edge.
Here is the Bouvier Des Flandres and he was much bigger than I expected.
This Corgi loved the camera!
I was very disappointed but not surprised at the lack of professionalism. They couldn’t even provide a proper table for the smaller breeds to stand on. It was a plastic, folding one and they just tossed an old rag on it as a mat.
This may sound weird but the judge looked and walked very drunkly. Perhaps it was the heat?
Every handler or owner had a number stuck to their upper arm, like the lady on the right. The paper was held with a RUBBER BAND and it continuously fell off which confused everyone.
Ottawa has the money and brains to make a good dog show but they didn’t and once again, the Canadians put up with it.
